The Mobile ID app provides two-factor authentication, allowing users to securely and easily log in to websites and software applications that support Mobile ID.

If you are a Swiss user who was already using Mobile ID on your SIM card, please be aware of the restrictions and the special procedure (recovery code) outlined at https://www.mobileid.ch/de/faq to ensure the transfer of your previous authentication option to the new app.

The second factor for authentication can be your device password (PIN), facial recognition like FaceID, or fingerprint recognition like TouchID.

The use of the Mobile ID app is completely free of charge.
